About the role

The Catering Department at Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust is looking to recruit 2 highly motivated and enthusiastic team members to join our fast paced and friendly team based at Pinderfields Hospital.
You will provide a safe, hygienic, nutritious and timely food service for patients.
Your duties will be varied and no day will ever be the same. You will play an integral role within the team in ensuring that the food prepared and delivered is of the highest quality and the department is cleaned to the highest standard.
There are 2 full time positions working 37.5 hours per week, varying shifts between the hours of 07.30am and 19.30pm.
Main duties
Working as part of a team, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the food preparation and serving areas for patients.
A willingness to work within other areas of the catering department essential to ensure continuity of service.
Ensuring that food hygiene legislation and the Trust Food Safety Policy (HACCP) are observed at all times.

Knowledge and Awareness
Essential criteria
An awareness of all regulatory catering hygiene requirements.
Desirable criteria
Awareness of health and safety, handling and lifting. COSHH regulations.
Skills and Abilities
Essential criteria
Good food preparation skills. Able to follow written and given instructions.
Desirable criteria
Able to work with minimum supervision.
Experience
Essential criteria
Previous experience of working in a commercial catering environment. Allergen Training.
Personal Attributes
Essential criteria
To be able to fulfil the physical demands of the role.
Qualifications
Essential criteria
Level Two Food Hygiene certificate or IEHO - (Basic Food Hygiene Certificate).
