Consultant Radiologist with special interest in Breast Imaging
CONSULTANT RADIOLOGIST WITH A SUBSPECIALITY INTEREST IN BREAST IMAGING
Applications are invited for a whole time Consultant Radiologist. The successful candidate will provide imaging support to the Trust's busy Breast Imaging service and General Radiology services if desired, and will join a team of 24 Radiologists working within the Trust. This post is based at Wycombe General Hospital.

Main duties of the job
Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust is a General Hospital with supra-regional Plastics and Burns Service. The Trust provides acute and specialist hospital services to more than 500,000 people in Mid. and South Buckinghamshire. There are 2 acute hospitals sites at Wycombe and Stoke Mandeville as well as peripheral sites, the largest of which is situated in Amersham. The world-renowned National Spinal Injury Centre is on the Stoke Mandeville Hospital and the Radiology Department provides a wide range of specialist imaging and interventional services to the Unit.

Job responsibilities
Main Duties of the Post
This post is for a Breast Radiologist. Consideration would be made for those candidates wishing to include some general radiology and negotiable on-call within the job plan.
The radiology department at BHT is highly regarded within the Trust as an approachable and innovative department. It has consistently achieved the highest score in the Oxford radiology registrars feedback in the past decade in the regional programme.
The department believes in delivering excellence through developing and supporting subspecialty radiologists and delivering access through maintaining and supporting general radiology skills in addition to supporting role extension
The post is full time (10 programmed activities) for a Consultant Radiologist with an interest in breast and cross-sectional imaging. The successful candidate will join a team of 20 Consultant Radiologists. The post holder will be based at High Wycombe Hospital but will be expected to work on other sites as required. Experience in both screening and symptomatic breast imaging is essential.

* Ability to conduct an MDT
* Good IT Skills
* Good organisational skills
* Ability to perform image guided radiology including aspiration and drainage for on call and urgent cases.
* Ability to undertake and organise audit of practice.
* Knowledge related to governance in radiology including discrepancy review.
Qualifications/Training
* FRCR
* Entry on the GMC Specialist Register via - CCT or CESR (CP) - proposed CCT/CESR (CP) date must be within 6 months of interview
* Entry on the GMC Specialist Register via - CESR or o European Community Rights (Substantive appointment only possible with full specialist register registration)
* Subspecialist Fellowship training
Experience
* Ability to perform screening assessment clinics independently
* Ability to run symptomatic breast clinics independently
* Ability to undertake breast interventional procedures including ultrasound and stereo biopsies and wire localisations.
* Experience reporting general CT, MRI, ultrasound, fluoroscopy and plain film.
