AccountantLocation: AldridgeType: PermanentSalary: £25,000 – £32,000Working Pattern: 5 days in the officeA well-established business in Aldridge is seeking a confident and capable Accountant to take full ownership of their day-to-day finance function.This is a varied role where you'll be trusted to manage everything from month-end journals and VAT returns to cash flow forecasting and supplier payments. It's ideal for someone looking for autonomy in a busy, hands-on environment.Key Responsibilities
* Managing banking processes including supplier payments and factoring reconciliations
* Allocating customer payments and reconciling transactions in Xero
* Drawing down funds, updating credit insurance, and handling trade finance
* Preparing and posting monthly journals (payroll, prepayments, stock, accruals, depreciation, deferred income)
* Handling UK and Irish VAT returns and associated payments
* Cash flow management including forecasting, tracking spend, and managing trade loans
* Liaising with payroll providers and booking salary payments
What We’re Looking For
* AAT qualified or QBE
* Proven experience in a similar accounting role
* Proficient in Xero
* Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills
* Solid understanding of double-entry bookkeeping
* Excellent attention to detail and time management
* Professional communication skills
