You’ll provide expert advice, deliver engaging training, and support colleagues with practical guidance on a wide range of health and safety matters. Your role will involve investigating incidents, conducting internal audits, and ensuring we meet all legal and company standards. If you’re passionate about making a real difference and enjoy working in a dynamic environment, this is the perfect opportunity to shape the future of health and safety at the AA.What will I be doing?Analyse risk trends, investigate data, and develop corrective and preventative action plansAdvise senior management on compliance, risk mitigation, and fostering a strong safety cultureSupport complex, group-wide Health & Safety projects to achieve strategic objectivesMentor and guide junior Health & Safety colleaguesLiaise with external organisations and regulatory bodiesContribute to cross-functional meetings and strategic Health & Safety planningChampion a positive safety culture at every level of the organisationAssist departments in developing and carrying out risk assessments and safe systems of workMaintain up-to-date knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation, providing expert advice and technical supportReview, update, and advise on Health & Safety policies, procedures, and documentation, including content for the company intranetSupport the audit programme by conducting management system and site auditsEngage and consult with key stakeholders, including staff, regulators, and union representativesInvestigate and report on accidents, incidents, and dangerous occurrences, ensuring compliance with relevant legislationRespond to Health & Safety enquiries and concerns from employees or the public, taking appropriate action where necessaryWhat do I need?NEBOSH Diploma/NVQ in Occupational Safety and Health (or equivalent) – essentialChartered Member of IOSH, or Certified Member working towards Chartered status – essentialNEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety – essentialExperience auditing to ISO 45001 or similar Health & Safety standardsProven experience as a Senior Health & Safety Advisor in a complex, multi-site environmentStrong knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation and best practiceAbility to influence senior leaders and drive a positive safety cultureConfident in developing and reviewing risk assessments and safe systems of workExcellent communication skills, with experience engaging a range of stakeholdersProficient in Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and audit management tools (e.g., iAuditor)Additional informationWe’re always looking to recognise and reward our employees for the work they do.
