The Compliance Engineer will take ownership of regulatory and standards compliance across Tedd Engineering’s product portfolio, ensuring alignment with key requirements including the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA), Machinery Regulation, relevant EN standards, and ISO-aligned processes.
The role will also support the business in strengthening its compliance framework and preparing for engagement with more regulated sectors.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities
* Lead compliance activities across applicable regulations and standards, including
o Cyber Resilience Act (CRA)
o Machinery Regulation
o Relevant EN / IEC standards
* Interpret regulatory requirements and translate them into clear, practical engineering and product requirements
* Maintain awareness of changes in legislation and standards
* Embed compliance into the product lifecycle, including:
o Design reviews
o Verification and validation processes
o Risk assessment
* Work closely with electronics and embedded teams to ensure compliance is considered from concept stage
* Support development of robust, compliant design practices
* Ensure technical documentation supports compliance and aligns with ISO 9001 processes
* Develop and maintain technical files, compliance evidence, and audit‑ready documentation
* Support internal and external audits where required
* Conduct gap analysis against regulatory and standards requirements
* Identify areas for improvement and implement structured actions
* Support the business in strengthening its compliance maturity and capability
* Act as a point of contact for compliance‑related matters
* Liaise with external test houses, certification bodies, and advisors where required
* Support engineering and leadership teams with compliance guidance
Background and Experience
* Proven experience in compliance, regulatory, or standards roles within engineering or manufacturing
* Strong understanding of industrial product compliance (safety, regulatory, or cyber)
* Experience applying standards and regulations in a practical setting
* Ability to work cross‑functionally with engineering, quality, and production teams
* Strong documentation and audit preparation experience
Desirable
* Experience with:
o Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) or product cyber security frameworks
o Machinery Directive / Machinery Regulation
o EN / IEC standards
* Familiarity with ISO 9001 or similar quality systems

* Exposure to more regulated sectors (e.g. defence, aerospace, or similar environments)
This is an office-based role due to the need for close interaction with engineering, testing and documentation teams. A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential for this role due to travel requirements.
