Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a CSW to join the Queen Centre ward 33 Haematology and teenage cancer ward. The successful candidate will work alongside a team of clinicians to deliver high standards of compassionate patient care on a busy 28-bedded acute ward.
Main duties of the job
The post holder is responsible for supporting the registered nurse or other professionals in delivering direct patient care procedures. They will work within defined parameters to undertake clinical care, technical, and clerical duties, informing their supervisor of duties undertaken and the outcomes. The post holder must demonstrate proficiency throughout their employment.
Duties include cannulation, blood sampling, urinalysis, and blood culture collection. The candidate should understand and align with the trust's vision and values.

Skills / Knowledge
* Ability to access and document on Lorenzo EPR/Nerve Centre
* Good verbal and written communication skills
* Ability to adapt to different situations
* Willingness to work towards extended clinical skills, including phlebotomy, cannulation, ECG taking
Desirable
* Keen to develop own skills and facilitate learning of others
* Additional clinical skills such as blood culture collection and urinalysis
Qualifications
* Care certificate, NVQ in care
Desirable
* Good standard of Maths and English
Experience
* At least 2 years recent hospital experience in a patient-facing caring role
Desirable
* Experience in an acute care setting
* Experience in oncology
