Context
TQ Education & Training (part of the Pearson Group) provides outsourced training services to the UK Ministry of Defence, public sector organizations, and private companies in the UK and overseas. This role supports Functional Skills delivery for the Royal Engineers, Adjutant General's Corps, and Royal Logistic Corps Apprenticeship contracts with the Ministry of Defence, and will work across all Pearson TQ contracts.
Role Profile
This Zero Hour role involves delivering English and Mathematics Functional Skills qualifications at levels 1 and 2 at Minley and Worthy Down.
Core Tasks and Responsibilities
* Teaching English and Mathematics Functional Skills qualifications at levels 1 and 2, including assessments and exams
* Updating learners' e-portfolios with evidence, feedback, and learning plans
* Completing Speaking and Listening assessments and related paperwork
* Providing face-to-face support and motivation to learners
* Developing Tutor Rationale and Programme Plans with learners
* Documenting learner progress through Learning Session Records
* Undertaking course/resource development, tutorials, and administrative tasks
* Maintaining up-to-date syllabi, schemes of work, and lesson plans
* Preparing and utilizing diverse teaching materials tailored to learners' styles
* Employing various delivery methodologies
* Keeping accurate records of attendance, assessments, and learner progress
* Providing statistical data to management
* Following Quality Assurance and Risk Management policies and procedures
* Engaging in staff development activities to enhance teaching standards
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
* Relevant teaching qualification (Cert Ed, PGCE, DTLLS, CTLLS, or PTLLS)
* Minimum Level 2 qualification in English and Mathematics
* Experience delivering Functional Skills at levels 1 and 2
* Experience supporting remote learners via technology such as Zoom
* Ability to develop innovative delivery models and engage learners
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
* Flexible, adaptable, and enthusiastic attitude
* Full, current driving license and access to a car, with willingness to travel (mileage paid)
This position is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974; an enhanced DBS disclosure is required.
