Senior Clinical Fellow in Neonatology and Neonatal Neurodevelopment
12‑month post (possible extension) at Singleton Hospital, Swansea Bay UHB. Suitable for neonatal GRID trainees, post‑CCT fellows, or doctors seeking OOP experience in neonatology, paediatric neurology, neurodisability or community child health. Desired start early (May‑July 2026).
Role combines advanced neonatal care with strong neurodevelopmental focus: hands‑on assessment, MDT working and early intervention. Fellow will join daytime neurodevelopment activity and tier‑2 rota, with training opportunities in POCUS, echo, simulation, education, governance and research within a supportive tertiary unit.
Responsibilities
* Deliver high‑quality neonatal care across NICU, HDU, special care, transitional care and delivery suite
* Assess and manage preterm and unwell newborns, attend high‑risk deliveries, contribute to ward rounds
* Support family‑integrated care and maintain accurate Badgernet documentation
* Conduct neurodevelopmental assessment (HNNE, GMA, Bayley IV, neuroprotective care planning), attend MDT, neuroradiology sessions, outpatient clinics
* Collaborate with outreach and community paediatrics
* Lead QI projects, support NNAP/VON data, contribute to audit, governance and risk management
* Provide undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and simulation
* Participate in tier‑2 out‑of‑hours rota
Pay scales may change following implementation of the Wales framework agreement.
