We are seeking people who wish to become Casual Assistant Youth Support Workers to support our Holiday, Activity & Food Programme activities, successful applicants must be enthusiastic, organised, and passionate about making a difference and changing young people’s lives. This post is to support the delivery of our nonterm time programmes and there will be opportunities for people to work either daytime or evening to help ensure a varied programme is delivered across the extended school holidays period(s). The Service is a key contributor to the prevention and early intervention/early help agenda for Lancashire County Council. It enables young people to succeed by providing high quality informal education opportunities to promote their personal and social development. It supports young people who are challenged in education, their communities or home life to ensure a successful transition to adulthood. Youth work focuses on personal and social development – the skills and attributes of young people – rather than to ‘fix a problem’. It is an educational process that engages with young people in a curriculum that deepens a young person’s understanding of themselves, their community, and the world in which they live and supports them to proactively bring about positive changes.
