As an Operations Manager based in Nottingham you’ll be responsible for:
1. Managing a large branch operation, including a large warehouse and yard. You will ensure all operations are running smoothly between the Sales and Operations teams
2. The transport operation, including planning driver routes, servicing of vehicles and arranging for hire drivers to support when necessary
3. Managing a team of 3-yard operatives, a yard supervisor and 4 HGV drivers. You will be conducting regular 1:1s and performance reviews, supporting the team where needed
4. Managing health and safety in the branch and ensuring we are exceeding expectations
5. Finding efficiencies in operations to reduce cost in damages
6. Taking control of stock take and conducting weekly stock checks as well as managing goods in and stock ordering
This is a full-time, permanent role working 45 hours per week Monday to Friday between –, no weekend working!!!
And here’s what we’d like you to have:
7. Experience managing a large-scale operation, including a large warehouse and yard, as well as a transport team
8. A positive attitude with a solid understanding of health and safety and how to drive it forward. An IOSH qualification is desirable
9. Knowledge of how to drive a forklift truck and a forklift license would be desirable
10. A HGV driving license would be beneficial, but not essential
