Overview
Cresconova Labs, a cutting-edge learning center for young innovators, is seeking passionate and dynamic Contract Educators with both teaching and fabrication experience to offer high learning potential students, aged 5–16, a variety of engaging, hands-on courses.
As a Contract Educator, you’ll deliver project-based courses designed around Cresconova Labs’ innovative framework: Inquiry-based Learning, Systems Thinking, Design Thinking with a drive towards Excellence.
Key Responsibilities: This role requires but is not limited to the following responsibilities:
* Makerspace Operations: Operate, maintain and instruct others on a variety of tools and equipment
* Full understanding 2D & 3D software
* Full working knowledge of 3D printers, Laser cutters, Soldering equipment and woodwork equipment
* Experience teaching 3D printing, Laser cutting and other equipment
* Computer Programming: Proficiency with computer science and programming robotics
* Ability to showcase program proficiency
* Safety & Compliance: Ensure all operations meet safety, hygiene, and safeguarding standards.
* Document: Create and maintain all training spreadsheets and materials, Create and maintain all Zines for machinery, Understanding of maintaining all flammables lists and placards
* Collaboration & Leadership:
* Collaborate closely with the Chief Creative Officer and other team members to design and implement in-person and hybrid learning experiences.
* Community Building: Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment that encourages innovation and learning.
* Sustainability: Work with leadership to create a sustainable, future forward approach for Cresconova Labs
Family Engagement
* Assist with programs such as speaker series and Open house events.
Teaching & Classroom Support
* Experience creating curriculum: ability to showcase curriculum
* Experience teaching fabrication courses, ensuring alignment with the Cresconova Labs Framework.
* Experience working with students ages 5-16+
* Experience teaching high learning potential students
* Experience with low floor, high ceiling curricular and project development
* Support contract instructors with assistance regarding classroom activities, materials preparation, and student engagement.
Expectations for Growth
* Short-Term: Learn a variety of machinery and software, ensure studio support for courses, and learn curricular development using Labs framework. Focusing on skills within the Cresconova Labs framework and confidence on equipment and software. Managing Cresconova educators and staff members.
* Long-Term: Demonstrate mastery of the role by driving initiative moving towards machinery maintenance, leading lessons with machinery focus, and supporting educators with machinery.

* Strong interpersonal skills, with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
* Strong organizational skills necessary to manage growth
* The ability to juggle multiple responsibilities effectively within a startup environment
* Open communication with team members
* Ability to work every Saturday (Sunday and Mondays off)
* 3+ years of curriculum development.
Support & Development
To help you succeed in this role, we will provide:
* Mentorship: Work closely with senior staff to learn Cresconova framework, curricular development and operational processes with machinery focus.
* Training: Receive training on Cresconova Framework, attend PD for Cresconova Framework, Jedi and SEL, and equipment operation.
* Growth Opportunities: Working with a leadership team to grow into a manager role overseeing Cresconova educators.
