Our client, a leading energy and infrastructure company is currently recruiting for to a Business Development Manager to join their team on a permanent (staff) basis. The position offers the flexibility to be based at their offices in Aberdeen, Inverness, or Edinburgh. ROLE The Business Development Manager to drive growth by identifying, developing, and securing new business opportunities across our core markets. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in expanding our client base, strengthening industry relationships, and positioning the company for long-term success. The Business Development Manager will work closely with senior management, commercial, engineering, and project teams to develop strategic initiatives, win contracts, and ensure continued business success in a highly competitive market. RESPONSIBILITIES Strategic Business Growth: Develop and implement business development strategies to drive revenue growth and market expansion. Identify and pursue new business opportunities across offshore wind, and energy transition projects. Lead market research efforts to understand industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities. Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, partners, and industry stakeholders. Act as the primary point of contact for business development engagements, ensuring client satisfaction and long-term partnerships. Attend industry events, conferences, and networking functions to enhance the company's market presence. Tendering & Proposal Development: Lead the preparation of bids, tenders, and commercial proposals, working closely with technical and commercial teams. Develop compelling value propositions tailored to client needs and project requirements. Negotiate contracts and commercial agreements to secure profitable business opportunities. Collaboration & Internal Coordination: Work closely with operations and commercial teams to align business development efforts with company capabilities. Provide strategic input on pricing, service offerings, and partnership opportunities. Regularly report on business development activities, pipeline status, and revenue projections. REQUIREMENTS Qualifications / Requirements / Experience: Experience in renewable energy projects (offshore wind, hydrogen, carbon capture). Proven track record of winning contracts and growing business in the offshore energy sector. Strong understanding of project delivery and commercial models. Excellent negotiation, networking, and relationship-building skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced, results-driven environment. Strong communication and presentation skills. Soft Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for stakeholder engagement. Ability to work independently and within a team in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Ability to work collaboratively with all service streams within the business Proactive and self-motivated with a strong work ethic. Attention to detail with a strong focus on accuracy and compliance.
