Salary: £70,000 - 75,000 per year Requirements: We need experience in full-stack software development within enterprise environments. We need backend development experience using Python frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask, or similar. We need frontend development experience using TypeScript and modern frameworks such as React or Vue. We need experience with AWS services such as IAM, S3, Lambda, ECS/EKS, API Gateway, and Step Functions. We need experience with microservices architecture and distributed systems. We need experience designing and consuming secure APIs. We need experience working with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tooling. We need the ability to work confidently across backend services, frontend applications, infrastructure, APIs, and cloud environments. We need experience with Infrastructure as Code, ideally Terraform. We need strong knowledge of observability, logging, and monitoring practices. We value experience in enterprise architecture principles, including event-driven and API-first approaches. We value experience designing scalable, secure, cost-efficient, and maintainable applications. We work in a hybrid model with 2 days onsite in Greater Manchester. We work 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with some flexibility. Responsibilities: We will have you play a leading role in the development, integration, and delivery of our Automated Output Checking System. We will have you help shape a platform that supports secure research at a global scale. We will have you work closely with architects, researchers, vendors, and internal engineering teams. We will have you design and build scalable integrations across research platforms and cloud-native services. We will have you apply AI techniques and cloud-native principles to a greenfield solution. We will have you design and develop full-stack applications using Python for backend services and TypeScript for frontend development. We will have you develop responsive and accessible user interfaces using modern frontend frameworks such as React with TypeScript. We will have you manage relational and non-relational database systems on AWS. We will have you develop and manage infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code to ensure reproducible and auditable environments. We will have you develop CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous integration, testing, and deployment. We will have you ensure systems are designed with observability, logging, and monitoring to support operational excellence. We will have you ensure integration patterns align with enterprise architecture principles, including event-driven, API-first, and microservices-based approaches.
