Location: Lisburn, Northern Ireland Salary Range: £35K
Shifts: 12 hrs shifts rotating days/nights 7-19/19-07.00, working 3-4 days a week as per 8 weekly rota
Summary and purpose of position:

The Warehouse Shift Manager is required to lead and grow Wincanton’s business through leading employees to work effectively and collaboratively. The role is pivotal to the efficient running of the business and will be focused on delivering consistent performance agreed operational KPIs. Reporting to the Warehouse Manager you will have full accountability for the day to day management of a team of supervisors and warehouse operatives and for delivering a culture that positively supports excellent performance and employee engagement.
The Warehouse Shift manager is a natural leader, someone who has the ability to engage with all stakeholders and an ability to successfully implement change.
Duties and responsibilities:
1. Proactively motivate and lead a team of Supervisors to achieve planned targets and ensure deadlines are met by providing guidance and encouragement
2. Support the delivery, monitor, and report the operational daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly KPIs
3. Ensure Supervisors are taking actions and following company processes and procedures in relation to absence, annual leave, performance, employee engagement, employee relations and health and safety requirements.
4. Ensure a proactive approach to Health & Safety via risk assessment and ensuring the team comply with health and safety policies and reporting
5. Analyse productivity and performance and make recommendations for improvements
6. Review team performance regularly including performance management reviews
7. Manage team performance, timekeeping, attendance, overtime and sickness levels of individuals and action as per procedures
8. Ensure effective communication throughout the operation communicating planned requirements providing information on performance, company news and procedures
9. Monitor and manage agreed budgets
10. Responsible for the management, development and motivation of temporary labour to cope with the demanding customer volumes including the relationships with local agencies
11. Responsible for the continual improvement of process/methods of the site operating practices
12. Manage customer expectations, ensuring all escalations are dealt with to a high standard and in a timely manner
13. Alongside other Shift Managers, manage union relationships
14. To undertake such other duties as may be reasonability required for the effective management of the operation
Experience, skills and attributes
15. 3 years’ experience in a warehouse environment preferably within the logistics or manufacturing sector
16. Knowledge and understanding of shift KPI’s and operational processes
17. Excellent team building, leadership, flexibility and motivational skills
18. Ability to delegate tasks to ensure high performance and KPI’s are met
19. Excellent level of verbal and written communication skills in English
20. IT literate with a good understand of Microsoft programmes
21. Agile approach to strategy and planning
22. Passion for continuous improvement and improving efficiencies
23. Ability to make decisions based on data
24. Flexibility to meet the operational requirements

Desirable Experience, skills and attributes
29. 3 years’ experience in a warehouse environment preferably within the logistics or manufacturing sector
