Key Responsibilities:As a Highways Technician, you will be at the forefront of maintaining and improving our roadways. Your responsibilities will include:
* Regular Monitoring: Conduct routine inspections of roads, bridges, and tunnels for structural defects, such as potholes, and safety concerns like faulty street lighting.
* Site Measures: Utilise your experience in site measures and work estimates, ensuring compliance with framework contracts.
* Design Schemes: Use AutoCAD or 3D modelling software to design maintenance schemes for resurfacing, drainage, and footpaths.
* Maintenance Tasks: Oversee practical maintenance activities, such as road marking, clearing debris, and gritting roads during the winter months.
* Community Engagement: Investigate and respond to maintenance requests and inquiries from the general public and local residents.
* Permit Processing: Process highway permits efficiently to ensure smooth project execution.
