Job Description Engineering and Project Assistant – IMRS - Submarines Full time Derby – Sinfin (Gate 9) IMRS The Inspection, Maintenance, Repair and Services (IMRS) team provides tailored inspection, maintenance and repair services direct to the customer through the effective deployment of our engineering capabilities. What you will be doing We are looking for an Engineering and Project Assistant who will work with the engineers, projects and procurement teams, to assist in delivering our products and services against increasingly stringent time, cost and quality constraints. This is an excellent opportunity to make an impact within an interesting and challenging business area. Responsibilities Facilitate and co-ordinate the engineering to procurement transition. This will include management/production of requisitions, Coupa orders and engineering supporting documentation; then liaising and coordinating with the internal procurement teams and external procurement providers; tracking the status of all parts and keeping the engineers up-to-date to ultimately ensure timely and complete delivery. Organise and coordinate ancillary activities and resources to support the engineering teams in efficient delivery (e.g. review meetings, training, hardware shipments between Rolls-Royce sites and externally). Support the management of IMRS hardware (deployable capabilities, development parts and supporting trials hardware). Support pre-deployment activities and teams gaining access to site (excluding travel arrangements). Provide support to the Group Leaders with key SAP activities including the monitoring and reporting of hours remaining to complete activities and where instructed the commitment of resource to undertake activities. Provide support to the Project Management teams including P6 administration, Coupa and SAP. Provide general support across the team to the process steps within our engineering value stream. Develop and maintain key business metrics on behalf of the team including supporting the production of progress reports as required. Why Rolls-Royce? An appropriate appreciation of engineering processes, practices and terminology. Good knowledge of Standard IT packages: Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Previous knowledge of Teamcenter, SAP and Coupa would be advantageous. Proven organisational skills for self and others. Good attention to detail.
