Full-Time SEN Support Worker (Children’s Residential Setting)
Contract: Full‑time, tempo-to-perm
Pay Rate: Starts at £13.75 per hour
Location: Ribchester, Lancashire
About the Role
We’re seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEN Support Worker to join our children’s residential team. You’ll provide holistic, one‑to‑one support to children with special educational needs, helping them thrive in a safe, nurturing home‑from‑home environment. Your role will be vital in promoting emotional well‑being, independence, and skill development.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver personalised care and education, tailored to each child’s needs.
* Support children with daily routines: personal care, mealtimes, bedtime.
* Promote social and life skills through engagement in group and individual activities.
* Maintain accurate records of progress, incidents, and care plans.
* Liaise with educational staff, parents/guardians, and multidisciplinary teams.
* Contribute to behaviour management and safeguarding within a safe, therapeutic setting.
* Assist during late‑evening and night‑time routines and support.
Essential Requirements
* Previous experience in support work, healthcare assistant (HCA), or a related role supporting children.
* Full UK driving licence – essential for transporting children to appointments and activities.
* Ability to work flexibly, including late‑night hours and overnight shifts.
* DBS clearance (or ability to obtain one).
* Empathetic, patient, and resilient with strong communication and teamworking skills.
* Basic literacy and numeracy to manage records and care planning.
