This role offers an excellent opportunity to lead teams across the whole of the Western Isle. The successful applicant will have the ability to drive real change and innovation in the way our teams Police and engage with our communities in one of the most unique geographical Policing areas in the country. The successful applicant will be based in Stornoway with regular opportunity to travel to Harris, Uist, and the Isle of Barra to engage with officers. With strong multi-agency partnerships across the Western Isles, the local area Inspector works closely with partners on both BAU matters and Initiatives to problem solve and create financially positive solutions and pathways for change in line with the 2030 Vision. This post attracts an annual island allowance of £1,923.33. Relocation expenses and local housing may be available and can be discussed with prospective applicants. All officers posted to, and who live on an island are entitled to the cost of three trips to the mainland per year (pro-rated if you are transferred part way through the year). This includes your co-habiting partner, dependent children, and/or dependants over 65 who stay with you.
