Job Title: Senior Planner (Construction Fit-Out)
Location: London (South Coast Project)
About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Planner to join a well-established construction business. This role will initially be based on a major project in the South Coast for the first 12 months, before transitioning to a London office, supporting projects nationwide.
This is a site- and office-based role where you will provide a professional and effective planning and programming service across both pre-construction and live project environments.
We are specifically seeking candidates with strong construction fit-out experience and proficiency in planning software such as Primavera P6 and/or Asta Powerproject.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, manage, and maintain detailed construction programmes for both tender and live project stages
Produce tender programmes, methodologies, and sequencing strategies to support bid submissions
Work closely with estimating teams to ensure programmes align with cost plans and project strategies
Update project schedules based on site progress and feedback
Perform critical path analysis and provide accurate, timely progress reports
Integrate design, procurement, and construction activities within programme schedules
Lead change management processes, including assessing programme impacts and advising on Extension of Time (EOT) claims
Identify risks, delays, and constraints early, implementing mitigation strategies
Establish and monitor performance measurement systems, including:
Critical Path Analysis
Earned Value Analysis
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Produce and manage time-related preliminaries, including analysis of supplier and subcontractor inputs
Present programmes and methodologies at internal and client settlement meetings
Key Requirements
Essential:
Proven experience as a Planner/Senior Planner within the construction fit-out and refurbishment sector
Strong working knowledge of Primavera P6 and/or Asta Powerproject
Solid understanding of construction sequencing, methodologies, and programme management
Experience working on fast-paced projects in live environments
Knowledge of common construction contracts and planning obligations
Strong commercial awareness and ability to align programmes with project budgets
Excellent analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills
Strong communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels
Desirable:
Experience working on national or multi-site projects
Familiarity with NEC or JCT forms of contract
Experience in change management and delay analysis
