Nursery Teaching Assistant Location: Stoke, Plymouth, Devon, FTE Salary Range: NJC Grade C (5 to 7) £19,377 - £19,998 Actual Annual Salary Contract Type: Permanent / part time, term time only (39 weeks per year) Contract Hours: 32.5 per week, Monday to Friday Teaching Personnel have great opportunity to work with a Nursery located in Stoke. The Nursery are looking to for a passionate and dedicated Nursery Teaching Assistant to join their team. The successful candidate will be part of a strong teaching team supporting learning for 3 to 4 year olds in the Early Years setting of the school. The teaching assistant role will include taking direction and using own initiative when working alongside the Nursery Manager and Early Years Lead, and will be deployed across the nursery setting to assist in learning and child development. Key Responsibilities Support pupils to understand instructions. Support pupils in respect of local and national learning strategies e.g. literacy, maths, early years, as directed by the teacher. Support pupils in using ICT as directed. Prepare and maintain equipment / resources as directed by the teacher and assist pupils in their use. Contribute to the overall ethos / work / aims of the school Appreciate and support the role of other professionals Attend relevant meetings as required. Participate in training and other learning activities and performance development as required Assist with the supervision of pupils out of lesson times, including before and after school and at lunchtimes Accompany teaching staff and pupils on visits, trips and out of school activities as required Qualifications GSCE English and Maths Experience of working in a school Experience of working with parents and external agencies Knowledge of child protection procedures and an understanding of the need for compliance with these procedures Knowledge of behaviour management strategies Knowledge of strategies for working with children with a variety of special needs Ability to work collaboratively in a team Able to communicate effectively orally and in writing Ability to inspire and motivate children and staff Understanding of equal opportunities issues in schools High level of interpersonal skills and the ability to form good relationships with students, colleagues and parent If this opportunity is for you please send your CV to Abigail Simpson All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role.
