SEO Editor Location: The i Paper HQ - High Street Kensington, London Position: Permanent About the Role The i Paper is seeking an SEO editor to join our growing audience team. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the heart of the newsroom to shape and optimise our journalism for a search audience, as well as writing content to reach The i Paper’s audience and expand our subscriber base. Reporting to the Head of SEO, you’ll be driving search audience growth through collaboration with the team and wider editorial staff, as well as producing high-quality, optimised journalism in a varied role. The ideal candidate will be energetic and keen to develop their career in a fast-paced newsroom environment. Key Responsibilities Work closely with editorial teams to commission and optimise stories for search products, including providing engaging headlines Lead SEO optimisation on The i Paper’s webpages Oversee our evergreen strategy within the SEO team and across the newsroom Lead our attribution strategy Provide the newsroom with reports on its output through an SEO lens, using analytics tools to compile these Produce original SEO-optimised content with strong visual storytelling Skills and Desirable Experience Essential: Have at least two/three years of newsroom experience, national or local Essential: Have a good understanding of news SEO best practice and its role in digital journalism Essential: Have experience writing original articles on a range of topics Essential: A basic understanding of technical SEO Essential: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in a team Desired: Have experience using analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics) to produce actionable insights for the wider newsroom Desired: Have experience using SEO tools e.g. SEMRush, NewsDashboard Package Description Our benefits package increases the longer you’ve been with us.
