Estates Division are looking for a new Contract & Cost Analyst, where you'll play a pivotal role in managing the financial and contractual integrity of a £25 million annual maintenance and minor works programme across a diverse estate of over 370 buildings. This is a strategic and hands-on role, supporting the stewardship of an estate valued at over £3.4 billion. You'll work closely with internal stakeholders and external contractors to ensure that all contractual arrangements are robust, compliant, and deliver long-term value for the University.

Key Responsibilities

* Draft, review, and negotiate complex contracts for maintenance and facilities services.
* Liaise with suppliers and contractors to ensure performance, compliance, and value for money.
* Support procurement processes, including tender evaluations and contract awards.
* Conduct detailed cost analysis and financial modelling to inform strategic decisions.
* Monitor budgets and identify cost-saving opportunities.
* Manage contract lifecycles and maintain performance metrics.
* Develop policies and templates to improve consistency and compliance.
* Deliver training and expert advice to Estates Division colleagues.

About You

You'll bring a strong foundation in contract law, procurement, and financial analysis, ideally within the education or public sector. You'll be confident working independently and collaboratively, with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Essential Criteria:

* Degree-level education or equivalent experience.
* Proven experience in contract negotiation and cost analysis.
* Knowledge of public procurement regulations and standard construction contracts (e.g., NEC, JCT).
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
* Strong analytical, communication, and organisational skills.

Desirable:

* Legal or procurement qualification (e.g., CIPS, RICS, LLM).
* Experience in higher education or facilities management.
