Senior Early Help Practitioner – Early Help Hub (MASH) – Children & Families Service

We are seeking a committed and experienced Senior Early Help Practitioner to take a leading role in the continued development of the Early Help Hub. The practitioner will be expected to maintain and build upon established and successful working relationships and continue to look for ways to work better together with the support of the MASH Manager – Early Help Lead. This is a key opportunity to influence and shape the effectiveness of our Early Help Hub, ensuring timely and proportionate responses for children, young people, and their families across the borough.

As the Senior Early Help Practitioner, you will lead on the screening of contacts where early help needs have been identified, working collaboratively with professionals across children's services and partner agencies. Your role will be critical in ensuring that families are supported through well-coordinated, outcome-focused pathways into early help provision, both within the Council and through the voluntary and community sector.

You will also be expected to provide professional oversight and support to Early Help Practitioners within the Hub, offering guidance, supervision, and quality assurance to ensure consistency of practice and adherence to local and national frameworks. Quality assurance and reflective supervision will form a core part of your role in maintaining high standards across the service.

What We're Looking For:

– Extensive experience in early help or family support, including direct work with children, young people, and families, with a strong understanding of safeguarding thresholds and early intervention frameworks.

– Proven ability to lead and support others, offering high-quality supervision, guidance, and professional oversight to practitioners in a fast-paced, multi-agency environment.

– Strong partnership and communication skills, with the ability to build and sustain effective working relationships across children's services, voluntary and community sectors, and other key stakeholders.

– A reflective, solution-focused approach, committed to continuous improvement and delivering positive, measurable outcomes for families through coordinated early help pathways.

An Enhanced DBS check is required for this role.

If you're ready to make a difference and want to be part of a progressive and supportive team, we'd love to hear from you.For more information about this opportunity, please contact: Claire Higginson, MASH Team Manager –
