Overview:
To provide credit risk analysis expertise to the Wholesale Banking Europe team in support of the Bank’s commercial activity in all product lines and with all types of counterparties.
What You Will Be Doing:
* To undertake in a timely manner the preparation and submission of Credit Applications, (CAFs), for new business proposals and annual reviews, assisting and advising as required, other Department members involved in such CAF preparations.
* To undertake in-depth financial analysis of, inter alia, balance sheet, profit & loss, and cash flow statements in support of CAF presentations, in line with best practices, fully liaising where necessary with Relationship Managers, Product Managers etc to ensure adequate information flows.
* To undertake regular monitoring of interim financial information in line with best practices, advising Relationship Managers, IBRMD and CAD as appropriate.
* To monitor Conditions of Approval, liaising with Relationship Managers and Front Office staff to ensure timely compliance/satisfaction of conditions and trackers, advising CAD and IBRMD as appropriate.
* To access as required, external information sources and appropriate research databases in support of CAF presentations.
* In conjunction with Relationship Managers and others, to undertake client visits, attend client calls and meetings as required for the purposes of information gathering and monitoring.
* To monitor current developments which may affect the Bank’s customers and recommend appropriate action if necessary.
* To comply with the Bank’s internal risk management policies, (including Group Credit Policy), and procedures and general standards of operations.
* To liaise with Risk Management and other Bank departments as and when necessary.
* To comply with all relevant external legal, regulatory, and reporting requirements.
* To provide mentoring, training, and guidance to team members as and when necessary.
* To support / deputize for the Head of Client Credit Management in respect of the team and in ad-hoc risk-related special tasks and projects.
Candidate Specification:
* Detailed understanding of credit analysis (corporates, banks, NBFI’s etc)
* Understanding of risks (financial and non-financial) covering various industries (not limited to oil & gas, manufacturing, real estate etc.)
* Detailed understanding of the Bank’s internal processes, policies, and procedures
* Awareness for and interest in international politics and economics
* Good communication skills (written, verbal)
* Experience of projections and financial modelling an advantage
* Experience of trade finance products an advantage
* Team player, ability to meet deadlines.
* Attention to detail, conscientious approach
