SEMH Teacher – Medway (Chatham area)
Start Date: ASAP
Full-Time, Long-Term until July 2026 (with potential for extension/permanency)
Are you a compassionate, motivated educator — with or without QTS — who wants to make a real difference in the lives of young people facing significant challenges?
Do you thrive in a setting where your ability to connect, engage, and support students is just as important as delivering the curriculum?
Are you ready to commit to a long-term role where consistency and care are essential?
One of our valued partner schools in Medway are seeking a dynamic and understanding SEMH Teacher to join their supportive team. The school provides specialist education to secondary-aged students from vulnerable and complex backgrounds, many of whom have Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs alongside other learning difficulties.
This is a long-term opportunity (ASAP start through July 2026) for someone who is not only skilled but also patient, nurturing, and genuinely committed to helping pupils build confidence, resilience, and progress both academically and emotionally.
What We’re Looking For:
✅ A teacher with or without QTS/QTLS – passion, reliability, and experience working with vulnerable young people is what matters most.
✅ Experience in primary, secondary, alternative provision, PRUs, or SEN settings is a strong advantage.
✅ Strong behaviour management and an ability to build meaningful, trust-based relationships with students.
✅ A flexible, consistent, and empathetic teaching approach.
✅ A team player who works well with staff, families, and outside agencies to ensure the best outcomes for pupils.
What the School Offers:
Small class sizes with a strong staff-to-student ratio
A highly supportive team and senior leadership
Ongoing CPD and opportunities for development
Clear pathways to leadership roles for committed individuals
Competitive pay: £163 - £223 per day, depending on experience
