About the role: Yorkshire Water is looking for a Technical Team Leader to join our Wastewater Service Delivery Team. You will help deliver outstanding performance across storm overflows, pass‑forward flow compliance, storm storage optimisation and network performance, while driving environmental performance and compliance.
Key responsibilities:
* Lead and support a team of technical specialists focused on flow and spill performance
* Provide scientific, technical and operational direction for flow and spill–related assets
* Analyse and interpret operational data to identify risks, trends and improvement opportunities
* Develop and track action plans to ensure compliance with environmental permits and internal performance targets
* Collaborate with operational teams, asset management, permitting and regulatory teams to align strategies and deliver improvements
* Represent Yorkshire Water in audits and site visits with the Environment Agency
* Support the development and implementation of management systems and procedures
* Coach and mentor team members, fostering a high‑performing, collaborative culture
What skills & qualifications you will need:
* Strong leadership and people‑management experience
* Deep understanding of wastewater processes and environmental compliance
* Experience working in a regulated industry
* Proven ability to influence across multiple levels of the business and externally
* Excellent stakeholder engagement and collaborative working skills
* Strong analytical, problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities
* Experience in change management, conflict resolution and strategy delivery
* Ability to interpret and communicate complex technical and financial information
* Full UK driving licence and access to own car
Additional advantageous experience:
* Experience developing and implementing management systems
* Background in coaching and mentoring technical teams
* Familiarity with risk registers and investment planning
