Special Needs Teaching Assistants – Basingstoke Specialist schools in the Basingstoke area are seeking dedicated, caring and enthusiastic individuals to join their teams as Special Needs Teaching Assistants (SEN TAs). About the Role As a Special Needs Teaching Assistant, you’ll work alongside experienced teachers, therapists and support staff to help pupils aged 2–19 who have autism, moderate to severe learning difficulties, communication and interaction needs, or physical and sensory impairments. Every pupil is unique, and your role will be to provide tailored support to meet individual learning and developmental goals. You will: Support classroom activities and adapt resources for different learning levels Encourage communication using visual symbols, signing or assistive technology Promote sensory engagement and structured learning through play and exploration Help pupils build independence, confidence and social interaction skills Provide personal care or mobility assistance where required, ensuring comfort and safety You’ll be part of a committed, friendly team that values empathy, creativity and teamwork. Full induction and ongoing training are provided to help you develop the specialist skills needed to succeed in this role.
