EYFS Teaching Assistant | East Lancashire | September Start
Are you a caring and enthusiastic Early Years practitioner looking for a new opportunity this September? Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a dedicated EYFS Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school (or schools) across East Lancashire.
This is a full-time, long-term position starting in September 2026, supporting children at the very beginning of their educational journey.
The Role
As an EYFS Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils within Nursery and/or Reception, helping to create a nurturing, engaging, and inclusive learning environment.
* Location: East Lancashire (including Blackburn with Darwen, Burnley, Accrington & surrounding areas)
* Start Date: September 2026
* Position: EYFS Teaching Assistant
* Contract: Full-time, long-term
* Pay: Competitive daily rates, paid weekly
Key Responsibilities
* Supporting the class teacher in delivering engaging, play-based EYFS learning.
* Working with small groups and individual pupils to support early development.
* Encouraging communication, social interaction, and early literacy/numeracy skills.
* Creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating classroom environment.
* Supporting pupils' personal, social, and emotional development.
* Observing and feeding back on pupil progress where required.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must:
* Hold a relevant Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years qualification (or equivalent experience).
* Have experience working within EYFS settings (school or nursery).
* Be caring, patient, and enthusiastic about supporting young children.
* Have strong communication and teamwork skills.
* Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply).
* Provide professional references and have the legal right to work in the UK.
