This is what you’ll actually do! In this role, you’ll be responsible for both planned and reactive maintenance across a wide range of production equipment, applying your electrical and mechanical skills to keep lines running efficiently. Your day-to-day work will involve ensuring compliance with Food Safety, Health & Safety, and quality systems, as well as diagnosing faults, performing repairs, and identifying root causes. You’ll record all activity, duration, and materials in the CMMS system (Mainsaver) and manage engineering supplies to support ongoing maintenance needs. You will also identify and recommend improvements to machinery, production lines, and operational processes, while supporting projects, continuous improvement activity, and productivity initiatives. Clear communication is key, as you’ll report unscheduled downtime and corrective actions to the Engineering Shift Manager or Production Manager. Maintaining high standards of housekeeping in line with GMP and supporting or coaching operators to develop basic asset care skills in their areas will also form part of your responsibilities. This is a hands-on role where your mechanical and electrical expertise, problem-solving skills, and proactive approach will make a real impact on plant reliability and efficiency. Ideally this is you! • Qualified Multi-Skilled Engineer with strong electrical and mechanical skills.• Essential qualifications: Electrical Apprenticeship, SVQ, or HNC.• Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing or FMCG environment (food production preferred).• Skilled in planned maintenance, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis across mechanical and electrical systems.• Competent with CMMS systems, ideally Mainsaver.• Strong understanding of Food Safety, Health & Safety, and GMP.• Hands-on, proactive, and able to work independently or as part of a team.• Excellent communicator with clear, concise reporting and problem-solving skills.
