Your Role as a Personal Care Assistant
Provide vital one-to-one care in the client's home, ensuring he feels safe, confident, and supported. Support his independence and help him reach his full potential.
About The Client & Responsibilities
Assist a 33-year-old gentleman with a brain injury and multi-sensory impairment (MSI) in navigating daily life and building independence through structured, supportive, and engaging activities.
Key Responsibilities
* Supporting learning, vocational, and social activities
* Assisting with physiotherapy and exercise routines
* Supporting participation in daily tasks like food prep and chores
* Providing clear communication for safety and wellbeing
* Helping access information and navigate surroundings
Requirements
Essential
* Male candidate (exempt under The Equality Act 2010 Schedule 9 Part 1)
* Experience in care, especially with epilepsy
* Understanding of MSI and its challenges
* Full hearing ability
* Good IT skills
* Ability to support in the community
* Reliable, compassionate, confidentiality-minded
Desirable
* BSL or Makaton skills (training provided)
* Full UK driving license
Training Provided
Paid full training including induction, safeguarding, health & safety, moving & handling, catheter and personal care, 5-day Intervenor, epilepsy awareness, and BSL/Makaton training (1 day via Teams). All training must be completed before start date.
