Job Title: Consultant Psychiatrist
Join the Thanet Community Mental Health Team, which includes a dedicated Duty team, assessment team, and CAPA assessment team. The team benefits from robust medical support and strong medical leadership.
This role offers an opportunity to develop the team's functioning further. The service covers the eastern area of the town, an area with social deprivation and significant drug and alcohol-related issues. You will not be responsible for inpatients.
You will collaborate with other specialties, such as the Mother and Infant Mental Health team and Neuropsychiatry.
Successful applicants should ideally have MRCPsych or equivalent, be on or within six months of inclusion on the Specialist Register, fully GMC registered, and hold Approved Clinician status and S12 approval under the Mental Health Act (or achieve this within 3 months of appointment).
Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct assessments and provide treatment for mental health conditions under secondary mental health services.
2. Manage, appraise, and supervise junior medical staff, in line with Trust policies and procedures, including assessing competencies under Modernising Medical Careers.
3. Participate in service and business planning activities for the locality and the wider mental health services.
4. Collaborate with local managers and professional colleagues to ensure efficient service delivery and contribute to medical management.
5. Perform administrative duties related to patient care.
6. Attend and contribute to the Trust's academic programmes, including lectures and seminars as part of the CPD activities.
