Principal Civil Design Engineer

We're working with a leading UK development consultancy that's looking to appoint a Principal Infrastructure/Civil Engineer to join their growing team in Bristol.
This is a standout opportunity for a technically strong and commercially aware engineer to take a leading role on a wide range of development infrastructure projects, with the backing of a supportive and ambitious organisation.
The Role
As Principal Engineer, you'll lead the design and delivery of infrastructure schemes for residential and mixed-use developments, covering highways, drainage, and site levels. You'll manage junior engineers, oversee project delivery, and liaise directly with clients and approving bodies.
Key duties include:
* Leading detailed infrastructure designs (private and adoptable works)
* Managing project workflow, budgets, and team resourcing
* Securing technical approvals (S104, S38, etc.)
* Producing designs using Civil 3D, AutoCAD, and MicroDrainage
* Applying industry standards such as MfS, Building Regs, Sewerage Sector Guidance
About You
* Degree-qualified in Civil Engineering (or similar), with 6+ years' experience
* Chartered or working toward professional status (ICE or equivalent)
* Strong background in residential development infrastructure
* Proficient in Civil 3D and drainage design software
* Confident communicator with project leadership experience
* Full UK driving licence and access to a car
