Role Overview
We are hiring for an Italian and Japanese speaking Translator to the localisation of a wide range of content, including video games, websites, mobile apps, and product packaging, ensuring accuracy, cultural relevance, and linguistic quality for Italian speaking markets.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Translate and proofread video game content and related media from Japanese into Italian
2. Collaborate with editors, project coordinators, and localisation managers to ensure consistent high-quality translations
3. Work on a variety of media formats and platforms, maintaining brand tone and style
4. Manage glossaries and translation memories
5. Ensure deadlines are met across multiple simultaneous projects
Candidate Requirements
6. Native-level Italian + fluency in Japanese
7. Previous video game translation experience - essential
8. Strong attention to detail and cultural nuance
9. Experience with CAT tools, especially MemoQ, and ability to learn new software
10. Creative, collaborative, and able to work under pressure in a team environment
11. Experience with managing existing glossaries and localisation workflows
Salary, working hours, benefits
12. £39,000 – £59,000 (dependent on qualifications and experience)
13. Hours: Monday to Friday, 09:30 – 17:30 (1-hour lunch break)
