Can you manage a busy caseload, prioritise your own workload and work effectively as part of a team? Are you a confident and experienced communicator used to dealing with the public and contractors? Enfield Council is looking to recruit a Commercial Waste Business Improvement Officer.
We would love to hear from you if you have experience in sales ideally in waste contract management and contract terms to meets both client needs and Council objectives. Knowledge of local business landscape and commercial waste regulations and Skilled in negotiating service agreements pricing structures.
This role offers lots of variety and you will be able to use your skills in communication, adaptability, attention to detail, organisation and customer service. You will be part of a growing service engaging and communicating with local businesses about waste management maximising their recycling and transforming their waste behaviours working towards both London-wide and national recycling targets. You will be based at our depot at Morson Road, but duties will be widespread throughout the Borough. It is essential that you have experience in a customer focused environment, excellent interpersonal skills, a passion for the environment and a good knowledge of Microsoft ICT systems including excel, word and outlook.
Responsibilities
* Engage and communicate with local businesses about waste management to maximise recycling and transform waste behaviours;
* Represent the Council at the depot on Morson Road and conduct duties across the Borough;
* Support the achievement of London‑wide and national recycling targets;
* Work effectively with the commercial waste business development team to deliver service improvements;
* Collaborate with stakeholders to identify business opportunities and negotiate service agreements.
Qualifications
* Experience in sales, ideally within waste contract management;
* Knowledge of commercial waste regulations and local business landscape;
* Skilled in negotiating service agreements and pricing structures;
* Excellent interpersonal skills and a passion for the environment;
* Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team;
* Proficiency with Microsoft ICT systems, including Excel, Word and Outlook;
* Experience in a customer‑focused environment.
