Location: Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire
Contract: Full-time – Temporary to Permanent
Start Date: September 2026
Salary: £29,344 – £44,919

Key Responsibilities

* Deliver engaging and high-quality Music lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (KS5 experience desirable but not essential).
* Plan and deliver a broad and balanced Music curriculum, including performance, composition, listening skills, and music theory.
* Inspire creativity, confidence, and self-expression among students through practical and theoretical music learning.
* Organise and contribute to extracurricular music clubs, performances, concerts, and school events.
* Encourage participation and inclusion for students of all abilities and musical backgrounds.
* Create a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment, ensuring health and safety procedures are followed when using instruments and equipment.
* Assess, monitor, and track student progress, providing constructive feedback to support development.
* Maintain high expectations for behaviour and promote a positive learning environment.
* Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and carers to support student achievement and wellbeing.


Candidate Profile

* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
* Experience teaching Music at secondary level is preferred.
* Strong subject knowledge and a passion for music education and performance.
* Ability to engage and motivate students with diverse abilities and interests.
* Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
* Strong organisational and communication skills.
* Willingness to contribute to extracurricular activities, performances, and school events.
* Commitment to ongoing professional development.
* Holds (or is willing to obtain) an Enhanced DBS check and professional references.
