The Greenshaw Learning Trust is 'Always Learning'. We are looking for a dedicated Site Operative to join our friendly, supportive team at Park House School, part of the Greenshaw Learning Trust, from October 2025.
About the role:
You will be working as part of the school site team assisting in the maintenance and security of the school premises and site, ensuring a safe working environment, as directed by the Site Manager. You will also be responsible for driving the school minibus in a responsible and competent manner. Additionally, you will play an active role in the school community, supporting its mission and ethos, and encouraging staff, pupils, and students to adhere to school expectations.

Main responsibilities:
1. Identify, report, and rectify building defects to maintain high standards of repair.
2. Support premises security, including opening and closing of buildings for events and emergencies.
3. Perform re-decoration and maintenance tasks as directed.
4. Maintain a safe external environment (e.g., gritting, litter collection, graffiti removal).
5. Conduct health and safety checks (fire, emergency lighting, Legionella) and keep records.
6. Operate and inspect plant and equipment, ensuring efficiency and safety.
7. Supervise and liaise with contractors as needed.
8. Assist with cleaning duties or oversee cleaning contractors.
9. Perform portage duties, including setting up and clearing furniture.
10. Use the online helpdesk system to manage job requests.
11. Be flexible to support school events and site needs.
Requirements:
* Good IT, numeracy, and literacy skills; GCSE (or equivalent) in Maths and English.
* Valid driving license and use of a suitable vehicle for travel between sites.
* Knowledge of moving and handling procedures.
* Willingness to participate in training and development.
