Reports to Director - Private Equity
The purpose of this position is to lead on the delivery and proactive development of the Private Equity fund services customer proposition in a manner that is aligned to the Aztec Group brand values and strategic business goals.
The candidate will be a key member of the Jersey Private Equity leadership team who work together to achieve strategic and financial success, driving the company and managing the associated challenges of a dynamic and fast-growing business.
A natural leader and expert in their field, the individual will play an important role in helping the business to meet its real potential. The individual will be required to manage a key client relationship through effective leadership of a large team to deliver a superior standard of service in the marketplace.
Key responsibilities:
1. Develop, direct, and monitor the implementation of strategic business plans and recommendations to enhance financial performance and new business opportunities for the team and the wider business, ensuring such growth is managed and sustained
2. Work closely with support teams to ensure systems and operations are developed to support the Private Equity fund services strategy, enabling tactical and strategic change initiatives, and acting as an active sponsor or business lead, as necessary, and deploying resources on key initiatives to ensure success
3. Maintain and build client relationships and act as a higher authority client contact on day-to-day queries and in the event of any issues within the client teams
4. Act as an A level authorised signatory on service delivery, ensuring company policy and professional and regulatory guidelines are adhered to and that a professional quality service is provided to clients and outside contacts
5. Take full ownership of the economics and performance of the team(s) ensuring that resource allocation, succession planning and business performance are aligned to achieve commercially viable results
6. Participate in client fee quotes, negotiations, and regular reviews of existing client relationships to ensure client satisfaction, proactively identifying and securing new service opportunities and taking appropriate action for any substandard service provision
7. Delivering through the team managers in ensuring that the requirements for a team/number of teams ensuring reporting deadlines are met, with oversight on planning, scheduling, and monitoring of workloads
8. Attend client board meetings and present periodic financial and service level information
9. Provide directorship services to client boards
10. Lead and/or participate in new client proposals and pitches as necessary, and manage the integration of new clients into the Group’s procedures
11. Lead or assist in the on-going development of systems and procedures to ensure the efficient, effective, and controlled delivery of client services
12. Ensure appropriate information and best practice is shared between designated client services teams
13. As part of the Group leadership team, contribute towards the business by identifying improvements in policies and procedures that apply across the business either through normal course of business or as a member of committees constituted to continually drive forward and successfully commercialise the Aztec offering
14. Actively manage the performance management and development of all direct reports as well as providing oversight in an operational lead capacity to non-direct reports
15. Work closely with the Business Development team to develop a network of meaningful contacts, including prospects and influencers to grow Aztec’s Private Equity fund services business
Skills, knowledge, expertise:
16. Candidate will be ICSA, ACA, ACCA or ICAEW qualified
17. Considerable practical business and post qualification experience in the Financial Services sector with a focus on fund administration and/or accounting
18. Sound technical professional services knowledge
19. Computer literacy and word processing skills are essential, including advanced proficiency in accounting tools, such as Microsoft Excel
20. Excellent interpersonal skills are required to develop close working relationships with colleagues, clients, and business contacts
21. Strong demonstrable experience in the day-to-day supervision of team(s)
