Property The diversity of the product offering encompasses a Luxury hotel, with 204 rooms within the main Hotel and Villa accommodation, 11 meeting rooms, 3 golf courses, The Spa at Turnberry and Turnberry Adventures across the grounds of the 827-acre resort. The property is owned and managed by The Trump Organisation. POSITION PURPOSE The Senior Groom will play a key role in maintaining horse welfare, supervising yard operations, supporting the team, and ensuring that Resort guests, riding school clients and private liveries receive a premium equestrian experience in line with the resort’s luxury brand. As well as supporting the stables team in their day-to-day duties. Due to the nature of equine care, this role requires occasional on-call availability outside of standard working hours. Key Responsibilities Horse Care & Welfare Oversee the daily care of all horses and ponies, ensuring exceptional standards of welfare. Monitor feeding, turnout, exercise, and rugging programmes. Assess horse condition, fitness, and behaviour; report and manage any health concerns. Guest Equestrian Experience Allocate horses appropriately for lessons based on rider ability and horse workload. Ensure tack is safe, correctly fitted, and impeccably maintained. Support instructors during lessons where required. Livery Yard Oversight Supervise and deliver high-quality livery services in line with agreed care packages. Act as a key point of contact for liveries for day-to-day requests, maintaining professional communication. Team Leadership & Supervision Supervise grooms whilst ensuring tasks are completed to a high standard. Provide training, mentoring, and guidance to develop team members. Assist the Yard Manager in organising daily task allocation and rota planning. Yard & Facility Standards Maintain immaculate yard presentation consistent with a luxury resort environment. Ensure stock levels of supplies, ie feeding, hay/haylage and any other consumables are maintained Oversee stable hygiene, arena maintenance, tack rooms, and storage areas. Guest & Resort Experience Deliver a warm, polished, and professional welcome to guests and members. Represent the resort brand with discretion and excellence. Support equestrian events, VIP bookings, and special experiences. Skills & Experience Required Proven experience as a Senior Groom or experienced Groom in a riding school, livery, or competition yard. Strong knowledge of horse health, behaviour, and stable management. Confident handling a range of horses and temperaments. Desirable Qualifications Relevant equestrian qualifications (e.g., BHS Stage 2/3 or equivalent). Human First Aid certification. Supervisory experience in a customer service-focused role preferred Experience in horse care to a very high and professional level Full driving licence (trailer licence desirable) Mandatory Member of PVG scheme (company will assist with membership application) Must be aged 18 (for insurance purposes) Grooming: All employees must maintain a neat, clean-shaven and well-groomed appearance per Trump Turnberry standards. This also includes looking after uniforms that have been provided. This must be washed and maintained to the desired standards.
