About Us
At ISP School, we are proud to be a Special Educational Needs School with over 20 years of experience in Kent. We specialize in supporting vulnerable children aged 7 to 16 with a wide range of complex needs. Our mission is to provide a diverse and appropriate education in a safe, supportive environment that fosters self-discipline, engagement, and a passion for learning.
We are excited to announce the opening of our new school in Battle, East Sussex, with a full capacity of 60 pupils, set within a beautiful country estate.
Your Role
As a One to One Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in mentoring and supporting our pupils. Your responsibilities will include:
* Providing dedicated support to one pupil or a small group of no more than five.
* Assisting the Classroom Teacher during lessons.
* Reporting on pupils' progress and collaborating with staff to meet their needs.
* Supervising pupils during non-classroom activities, including extracurricular events and school trips.
* Helping with lesson planning and classroom preparation.
* Setting and marking work as appropriate.
* Building positive relationships to drive engagement and learning outcomes.
What We’re Looking For
To thrive in this role, you should have:
* A strong educational background, ideally to A-level, with at least GCSE Grade C or equivalent in English Language and Mathematics.
* Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role.
* Experience working with pupils with SEMH in an educational setting.
* Confidence to lead in a specialism (e.g., Reading, Mathematics, Forest School).
* Knowledge of behavior management techniques.
* A commitment to professional development and a willingness to learn.
* Willingness to undergo an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check, with costs covered by ISP.
