The Opportunity
We are looking for a highly driven Director of Business Development to spearhead growth across the US (priority), UK and wider EMEA markets. This is a new business role — you’ll be responsible for targeting and securing new clients, opening doors at C-suite level, and building a pipeline of opportunities that will fuel Jefferson Locke’s international expansion.
Key Responsibilities
* Proactively identify and win new clients across key target markets, with a focus on the US.
* Develop and deliver a structured outreach strategy, engaging senior decision-makers (C-suite, boards, investors).
* Build a strong pipeline of executive search mandates through research, insights, and consultative engagement.
* Represent Jefferson Locke with credibility, positioning us as a trusted partner for leadership hiring and advisory.
* Work closely with the founder to shape market-entry strategies and accelerate business growth.
About You
* Proven track record in business development, sales or client acquisition within executive search, recruitment, or leadership consulting.
* A natural hunter: resilient, proactive, and motivated by building new relationships from the ground up.
* Confident and articulate communicator, able to engage at board and C-suite level.
* Strong understanding of consultative sales and market research-led outreach.
* Flexible to work across East Coast US and UK time zones
