Main Duties
Diagnosis and treatment: Assess, diagnose and treat patients with common illnesses and injuries, and carry out minor procedures.
Prescriptions: Prescribe medication and provide advice on treatments.

Job Details
Job title: Salaried GP
Salary: Dependent on additional responsibilities. Session rate £11,750 depending on experience.
Hours: Various (Minimum 4 sessions)

Accountable to: Clinical Lead
Job Responsibilities
* Provide primary medical services to registered patients of the practice, ensuring highest standards of care in line with national contractual regulations and guidelines.
* Perform surgery consultations and emergencies, telephone consultations, triage, home visits, authorise repeat prescriptions, handle test results, medical reports and referral letters in a timely manner.
* Provide health promotion, advice and signpost patients to appropriate services to maximise health and social functioning.
* Mind personalised care and population health, reducing health inequalities and reflecting these in daily practice.
* Make professional, autonomous decisions for presenting patients – self‑referred or referred from others.
* Assess health needs of patients with undifferentiated problems, screen for disease risk factors and early signs of illness, and take appropriate action.
* Consult with patients and develop care plans in line with current disease‑management protocols and care pathways.
* Record clear and contemporaneous consultation notes using IT systems.
* Compile and issue computer‑generated acute and repeat prescriptions, avoiding handwritten prescriptions.
* Prescribe in accordance with locally or nationally agreed prescribing formulary.
* Work in accordance with all relevant clinical guidelines, pathways and protocols.
* Delegise tasks appropriately to other staff and coordinate care.
* Participate in in‑hours duty doctor sessions as agreed.
* Engage in continuing professional development, annual GP appraisal, revalidation, peer supervision and maintain membership on the Medical Performers List.
* Remain up to date with NICE guidance and relevant clinical practice guidance.
* Active engagement with professional development lead to promote patient safety and quality of service.
* Participate in clinical governance activities, including clinical audit and quality‑improvement activities.
* Ensure that Care Quality Commission requirements are reflected in day‑to‑day practice and actively maintain and develop CQC compliance.
Qualifications
* MRCGP qualification.
* Registered on the GMC GP Register with licence to practice.
* On an NHS National Performers list (England, Wales or Northern Ireland).
* UK based (necessary).
* Overseas Tier 2 workers with relevant skills and qualifications are welcomed.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Passion for healthcare.
* Motivated to develop knowledge and skills required for the role and for ongoing professional development.
* A Clinical Supervisor would be beneficial.
