We are seeking an enthusiastic Physiotherapist to develop in the soft tissue knee service. The role will give the candidate the opportunity to develop advanced expertise in patient assessment, diagnostic investigations and treatment of soft tissue knee injuries/conditions.
The post holder will have the responsibility for providing a specialist service for patients who require diagnosis/assessment and/or investigation and/or treatment of soft tissue knee injuries/conditions.
Main duties of the job
Programme Structure.
The successful applicant will acquire significant experience across multiple clinical settings. These include orthopaedic outpatients, radiology, physiotherapy, and operating theatres. By participating in this comprehensive programme, you will be exposed to a broad spectrum of clinical environments and develop a diverse set of skills relevant to soft tissue knee management.
Commitment
The role will be one session per week. This structure is designed to allow the successful candidate to gradually integrate into the soft tissue knee service, gaining hands-on experience while further developing their skills and knowledge in the assessment and management of soft tissue knee injuries and conditions.
Support and Development
Dedicated support and teaching will be provided by team members and affiliated services to facilitate your ongoing development. You will also have the chance to attend leadership courses and engage in research and development activities, further enhancing your professional growth and equipping you for more advanced responsibilities in the future.
Progression
Upon successful completion of all required competencies, it is envisaged that you will act independently in the management of patients with soft tissue knee injuries and conditions.

Knowledge & Skills (Band 8a)
Essential criteria
1. In depth knowledge of speciality area of practice.
2. Complex problem solving and assessment skills
3. To display effective communication skills, communicating complex, sensitive and contentious information to patients, carers and colleagues.
4. To demonstrate analytical skills and judgement when dealing with the management of complex clients.
5. Ability to work independently, and to pass on knowledge/skills to others within both formal and informal environments.
Desirable criteria
6. Knowledge of audit and research processes
Experience (Band 8a)
Essential criteria
7. Extensive post registration experience working at a senior level within the speciality area.
8. Experience of student and junior supervision.

9. Theoretical knowledge and applied clinical practice in specialist area

Qualifications & Training (Band 8a)

12. To hold a degree or relevant Diploma in Physiotherapy.
13. To hold a State registration in Physiotherapy.
14. To hold a post-graduate Masters or have completed a portfolio of professional development which evidences an advanced level of clinical practice in line with HEE (2017) framework for ACP
15. To have completed accredited training in specialist area where available and to have ongoing evidence, continuing professional development within their specialist field.
Qualifications & Training (Band 7)
Essential criteria
16. BSc or Diploma in appropriate profession
17. HCPC Registration
18. Completed or willing to work towards an MSc if available or relevant post graduate courses
Experience (Band 7)
Essential criteria
19. Experience in specialism at Band 6 level
20. Experience working as an autonomous practitioner at a Band 6 level within the NHS
21. Demonstrates experience of supervision and teaching more junior staff, students and other members of the MDT
22. Evidence of audit and research
