We have an amazing opportunity to join a longstanding client's team in their new location in Port Talbot. The hours of work will be Monday to Wednesday, 7.30am-5.30pm, Thursday, 7.30am to 5pm, with a non-working day on Friday.
The main requirement of this role is to ensure accurate stock control and traceability of parts from receipt to production. The most important aspect of this role is Stores Experience.
Reporting to: Stores Team Leader & Production Manager
Working with: Purchasing Department, Quality Department, Machine Shop, Production, and Couriers
Responsibilities include exceeding company targets regarding stock accuracy, detecting discrepancies at goods inward receipt, accounting for stock items with Goods Receipt Notes completed on the same day as delivery (up to 4pm), ensuring no unauthorized individuals in the stores area, and achieving zero stock loss following proper procedures.
Key Responsibilities
* Maintain the internal system recording storage status or movements of parts received or dispatched.
* Check all received materials against documentation and perform a visual inspection. Conduct basic measurements on stock items.
* Apply Goods Receipt Notes for all receipted goods, materials, or parts per company procedures.
* Record and register all outgoing materials, goods, or parts in accordance with dispatch procedures.
* Report any discrepancies.
* Conduct stock takes, including periodic inventory counts, to maintain accurate stock figures.
* Maintain good housekeeping practices within the Stores Area.
* Follow HSE policies and store procedures during all activities.
* Pack and store consignments securely, complying with relevant legislation.
* Perform loading, unloading, and lifting operations safely, using appropriate PPE and certified equipment.
* Work independently with initiative.
* Engage in problem-solving and continuous improvement.
Technical Skills
* Experience in booking in parts, inventory counting, and stock control (minimum 2 years).
* Proficiency in computer systems.
