We're really excited to be exclusively partnered with a globally renowned literary organisation, to help them hire a Digital Product Manager - this hire will play a key role in defining the businesses digital product strategy for years to come.
The organisation are small, but have built a global presence and reputation for connecting audiences with incredible books as well as building and advancing the profile of authors globally - alongside this, they run a number of initiatives within communities and schools, for example, in inspiring the next generation of authors/writers.
From a digital product perspective, the interesting challenge/opportunity is that they work with an incredibly broad audience on a global scale, and the way that people buy and consume literature has and is rapidly evolving - building digital products that align with their core purpose and values, whilst catering to the future is where you come on-board.
You will be joining a small internal team, and responsible for working with and managing key external partners on the digital/technology side - e.g. external development partners. You'll also play a key role in hiring any additional resource into the team, our outsourcing appropriately (e.g. Design). Internally you will be working very closely with the leadership group through all stages of your work - from defining and shaping the overall product strategy, through to beginning to deliver that work in the real world - this is genuinely a role to see some very interesting transformational change, in an environment where there is appetite to move quickly.
As this is such a vital role to the business, there are definitely some things that you will need to demonstrate clearly in your experience:
* You will very much be a hands-on Product Manager - whilst you will be managing/working with external partners, there's a lot of execution in this role
* Shaping Product Strategy AND executing on that is something you will have done many times previously and can demonstrate
* A research / discovery led approach and skill-set - you will have access to both authors and readers globally, and understanding their needs will be central to shaping the overall product strategy and roadmap
* The product spans content (publishing), commerce, audio, and video so experience across a broad range of domains is certainly likely to be relevant/interesting
* You have worked in small teams, perhaps as the sole product person or as part of a very small team - working here will be very different to being part of a large product org within a larger business
