Rate of Pay: £27.22- £34.91 per hour
Summary:
The Assistant Traffic Engineer is a vital role within the Traffic and Parking team, supporting the design and delivery of impactful transport and parking schemes to create a safer, more efficient road network. The post holder will assist the Principal Engineer across a diverse portfolio of projects, including pedestrian crossings, controlled parking zones, traffic signal junctions, and local safety improvements. This role requires technical proficiency in AutoCAD and strong administrative skills to ensure projects are successfully delivered from concept to implementation.
Responsibilities:
* Assist in the design and development of various traffic and parking schemes under the guidance of the Principal Engineer.
* Undertake site visits and measurements as required to support design work and project delivery.
* Contribute to consultations and project implementation across the borough, liaising with stakeholders as necessary.
* Ensure all filing and drawing schedules are kept up to date to maintain a rigorous document control system.
* Support the team in managing the diverse portfolio of projects to enhance mobility and safety for residents and visitors.
Essentials:
* Proficiency in AutoCAD is essential for design and drawing revision.
* Understanding of traffic and parking design principles
* Some experience in preliminary design of traffic engineering schemes.
* Familiarity with KeySigns and KeyLines is desirable.
