About the role… As the Community Support Officer - Active Wellbeing, you will play a vital role in supporting our mission to improve the health and wellbeing of residents. You will work closely with partners and local communities to empower individuals and address barriers to physical activity. Your efforts will focus on leveraging existing community assets to create sustainable solutions for a healthier community. Some of your responsibilities: Collaborate with Freedom Leisure to develop and implement a community outreach programme. Engage with local communities to facilitate partnerships and enhance community-based physical activity offerings. Identify areas of need, such as those affected by antisocial behaviour or social isolation and match them with suitable community solutions. Assist local communities in securing funding to redevelop and improve facilities for increased community activities, utilizing section 106 contributions and other funding sources. Work alongside the communications team to create effective local messaging, with a particular focus on social media outreach. Provide clear, up-to-date reports on the progress of your initiatives and programmes. This is a new role which will cover the Forest of Dean.
