JOB TITLE: Team Manager - Insurance
LOCATION: Remote (UK Based)
TYPE: Permanent, Full - time (37.5 hours per week)
Velonetic represents the joint ventures between DXC Technology, the International Underwriting Association (IUA), and Lloyd’s of London. Previously known as the London Market Joint Ventures, we have operated in the London Market (Lloyd’s and Company) for over 20 years, across both insurance and reinsurance business.
Processing over £101 billion in premium and claims transactions, we are building a new digital platform and services to help customers move transactions and money through the processing lifecycle more efficiently freeing up time for innovation and higher-value activities.
Job Overview
We have a fantastic opportunity for an individual with strong operational understanding.
The Team Manager is responsible for achieving production targets through the smooth and efficient operation of their team. This role requires strong leadership, interpersonal, and customer relationship skills, alongside excellent organisation and prioritisation abilities.
You will need to adapt to changing demands and ensure all work meets agreed service levels for quality and turnaround times.
Full training will be provided on all required insurance documentation and systems.
What you will be doing
1. Forecast workloads and resource requirements using ControliQ methodology to drive performance improvement
2. Maintain accurate records of time allocation and diverted activities
3. Monitor in-day performance against work plans
4. Manage workflow by distributing work effectively and reprioritising where needed
5. Produce and maintain a balanced capacity plan aligned to business needs
6. Collaborate with colleagues to resolve capacity challenges
7. Support quality, control, and compliance standards, including ISAE audit controls
8. Conduct regular 1:1s and performance reviews (PDRs)
9. Coach and develop team members, identifying and addressing training needs
10. Manage absence in line with company policy
11. Deliver team briefings on daily, weekly, and monthly priorities
12. Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external customers
13. Support change and innovation initiatives
We're looking for people who have
14. Experience managing a team (insurance/London Market experience desirable)
15. Strong numeracy, verbal, and written communication skills
16. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (including Outlook)
17. High attention to detail and accuracy
18. Strong organisational and time management skills
19. Ability to work independently and collaboratively
20. Excellent customer service skills
21. Strong influencing and negotiation abilities
22. A proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
23. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
