All About the Role
Based at our Advanced Steel Services site, Grove Road, Walton-Le-Dale, Preston, the purpose of this role is to ensure customers’ orders are fulfilled to the highest standards in a fast-paced environment.The shift hours are Monday to Friday 8 am to 5pm.
Specific tasks could include:
1. Pick computer generated orders with repetitive handling/lifting of heavy and large item.
2. Loading, cutting (Saws) and offloading of steel.
3. Ensure all documentation is correctly actioned for accuracy of stock.
4. Transferring stock to its location using a Forklift truck.
5. Assisting in the overall production and dispatch of customers’ orders
6. Keep work area clean and tidy maintain high levels of Health and Safety.
7. Be adaptable and flexible in approach to work to meet operational requirements.
8. Operate machinery (only when trained to do so)

Essential Skills for the role:
16. The successful candidate will have experience as a Warehouse Operative but does not have to necessarily be in the Steel Industry as training will be given.
17. Have a flexible attitude, be results oriented, and enjoy working in a team environment.
18. Side-Loader/ Fork-Lift experience desirable, however training will be given.
19. Ideally have experience of using bandsaws.
20. A strong commitment to Health & Safety.
21. Ideally a Driving License for ease of getting to and from work.
