Contract: Permanent | Hours: 40 hours per week (Mon-Fri) | Closing date: 24 May 2026
The Working Supervisor role provides supervision of small teams of staff to carry out engineering projects within the Severn Trent WTS Framework and the engineering team of Hargreaves Industrial Services. The role ensures that work is delivered to a high quality, safely within the constraints of the programme and cost plan.
Responsibilities
* Responsible for day‑to‑day operational duties of the team
* Responsible for safe deployment of the team – all elements of health, safety and quality to be maintained
* Ensure the work is completed to a high standard
* Communicate with clients and the HIS framework and Project Manager on progress or any issues arising
* Assist in promoting a proactive safety culture on all projects to drive a zero‑harm culture
* Assist in delivering the project on time
* Identify efficiencies and innovation where possible
* Provide information needed for key project tools such as inspection and test plans, project programmes and risk registers
Qualifications and Experience
* Minimum of five years of experience in supervising staff
* Mechanical or electrical formal qualifications through the apprenticeship route
* Supervisory skills and experience
* FLT licence preferable
* CDM Awareness Training
* Welding/rigging & slinging/confined space training preferable
* Ability to set team to work safely including all safety paperwork, RAMS, POWRA, etc.
* Ability to oversee project work to completion
* Strong communication skills at all levels
* Positive attitude to safety

* Ability to work well under pressure and to timescales
