Job Description:

Required in: Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire

Purpose: Support the financial planning and analysis team by ensuring the smooth processing of asset purchasing and managing the HP agreements, including posting to the accounts, as well as general ad hoc tasks and projects as they arise. Reporting Lines: You will report to the Management Accountant.

Focus areas of the role: The success of the role will be measured against the effective support of the following focus areas:

* Support the end-to-end preparation of Management Accounts at the depot and total company level
* Month-end journals, including accruals & prepayments
* Balance Sheet maintenance and reconciliations
* Assistance with variance analysis and commentary for review
* Assistance with the monthly reporting pack, including supporting schedules
* Assistance with company-wide budgeting and reforecasting
* Support in the implementation of new systems across the company
* Assisting with process improvements in the finance department and across the business
* Ad hoc reporting and analysis
* Various ad hoc duties and projects to support the business
* Deputizing for the Management Accountant from time to time

Success enablers: To be successful in this role, you will need the following skills, behaviors, and abilities:

* Part-qualified accountant/QBE (AAT Qualified)
* Advanced Excel user
* Understanding of double-entry accounts
* Ability to "hit the ground running" and quickly understand existing spreadsheets
* Ability to confidently liaise with colleagues at all levels
* Able to commercially analyze and interpret results
* A hands-on and proactive individual
* Numerate

* Finance System: Access Dimensions
